Capital One Transfer Partners: The Complete 2026 Guide

Capital One miles transfer to 22 partners: 18 airline programs and 4 hotel programs. Most airline partners convert at 1:1, so 10,000 Capital One miles become 10,000 partner miles. You need at least 1,000 miles to transfer, and every transfer is final. Below, you’ll find every partner, every ratio, and the ones I’d actually use.
I’ve moved Capital One miles to more of these programs than I’d like to admit. Some transfers paid off brilliantly. One or two didn’t. This guide is what I wish I’d had before the first one.
Capital One airline transfer partners
Capital One has 18 airline transfer partners, and 14 of them convert at a 1:1 ratio. The other four give you fewer partner miles per Capital One mile, so check the ratio before you move anything. This is the full list, taken from Capital One’s own partner page as of January 2026.
1:1 partners (1,000 Capital One miles = 1,000 partner miles)
- Aeromexico Rewards
- Air Canada Aeroplan
- Avianca LifeMiles
- British Airways Club (Avios)
- Cathay Pacific Asia Miles
- Etihad Guest
- Finnair Plus
- Air France-KLM Flying Blue
- Qantas Frequent Flyer
- Qatar Airways Privilege Club
- Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
- TAP Air Portugal Miles&Go
- Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles
- Virgin Red
2:1.5 partners (1,000 Capital One miles = 750 partner miles)
- Emirates Skywards
- EVA Air Infinity MileageLands
- Japan Airlines Mileage Bank
5:3 partner (1,000 Capital One miles = 600 partner miles)
- JetBlue TrueBlue
Emirates used to sit in the 1:1 group. Capital One cut it to 2:1.5, which I covered in detail in why the Emirates devaluation hurts. Ratios like this can change with little notice.
Capital One hotel transfer partners
Capital One transfers to four hotel programs: Wyndham Rewards, Choice Privileges, Accor Live Limitless and I Prefer Hotel Rewards. Wyndham and Choice convert at 1:1. I Prefer doubles your miles at 1:2, while Accor halves them at 2:1.
That sounds generous for I Prefer. It isn’t always. Hotel points are often worth less per point than airline miles, so a bigger number doesn’t mean more value.
Choice Privileges transfers only work for US-based Choice accounts. If you live elsewhere, that partner is off the table.
How to transfer Capital One miles
You can transfer Capital One miles online or in the Capital One Mobile app in a few minutes. Before you start, make sure the name on your loyalty account matches the name on your Capital One account exactly. A mismatch is the most common reason a transfer fails.
- Join the partner program. Create a free account with the airline or hotel if you don’t already have one.
- Sign in to Capital One. Open the rewards section for your Venture card.
- Choose Transfer Miles. Pick the partner and enter your loyalty number.
- Enter the amount and confirm. The minimum is 1,000 miles.
Many transfers land almost immediately. Some partners take longer, so never transfer on the same day you plan to book a seat you can’t afford to lose.
Transfers can’t be reversed. Once your miles leave Capital One, you can’t move them back. That single rule shapes how I use every partner.
Which cards can transfer miles?
Any Capital One card that earns miles can transfer them, including the Venture X, Venture and VentureOne, plus their business versions. Cash back cards like the Quicksilver and Savor can’t transfer directly. If you also hold a Venture card, you can convert that cash back into miles first and transfer the combined balance.
Airlines and hotels Capital One doesn’t transfer to
Capital One doesn’t transfer to American Airlines, United, Delta or Southwest. It doesn’t transfer to Hyatt, Marriott, Hilton or IHG either. These are the most searched gaps, and they catch a lot of people out.
You still have routes to some of them:
- American Airlines flights: book through British Airways Avios, since both airlines are in the oneworld alliance. Here’s how many Avios you need for a flight.
- United flights: book through Turkish Miles&Smiles or Air Canada Aeroplan, both Star Alliance partners of United.
- Delta flights: book through Air France-KLM Flying Blue, a SkyTeam partner of Delta.
- Hyatt, Marriott and Hilton stays: book through Capital One Travel at a fixed value per mile instead.
If you want miles in a program Capital One doesn’t reach, a transfer won’t get you there. You’d need to earn them directly or buy airline miles.
The best Capital One transfer partners
The best Capital One transfer partners for most people are Turkish Miles&Smiles, Air Canada Aeroplan, Flying Blue and British Airways Avios. Each one gives you a cheap way into a large alliance. Which is best for you depends on where you fly from and who you fly with.
- Turkish Miles&Smiles is my favourite for Star Alliance flights, including United-operated routes. Award prices are often lower than United charges its own members. If you already hold Turkish miles, here’s how to get the most value from them.
- Air Canada Aeroplan has a wide partner network and lets you add a stopover on many one-way awards. Watch for changes, though, as Aeroplan has devalued before.
- Flying Blue runs monthly Promo Rewards with discounted award prices to Europe. It also books Delta flights.
- British Airways Avios is strong for short flights, where distance-based pricing keeps costs low.

Why transfer ratios matter more than ever
Transfer ratios matter because programs change their value often, and you carry that risk the moment you transfer. More than 90% of general purpose credit card spending now goes on rewards cards, according to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (December 2024). With that much at stake, issuers and partners adjust terms regularly.
Complaints about rewards programs rose by more than 70% in 2023 compared with pre-pandemic levels, the CFPB reported in its May 2024 Issue Spotlight. Devaluations and surprise rule changes were common themes.
My rule is simple. Only transfer when you’ve found the exact seat or room you want. Miles sitting in Capital One stay flexible. Miles sitting in a partner are stuck there. I explain the wider risks in the hidden risks of transferring points.
When a transfer isn’t the right move
A transfer isn’t worth it if you can’t find award seats, don’t have a trip planned, or only need a small number of miles. In those cases, your miles keep more of their options in your Capital One account.
You can book flights and hotels through Capital One Travel at a fixed value per mile. You can also erase recent travel purchases. And if you’d rather have cash, you can sell your Capital One miles for a quote with no obligation.
